Overview

The 2 day trip to Da Lat – Lak Lake – is one of the most popular tours through the central highlands of Vietnam, we travel along the countryside and down Back roads, and experience the different cuisine of Vietnam.  Home-stay with the local people in Long Stilt houses, and embrace their age old traditions.

Day 1

Itinerary

DALAT – LAK LAKE ~ 160 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Your tour guides will pick you up from your hotel.  On the way we can visit the Crazy House (The old architecture of Dalat).  Travel along the country roads to see working farms such as exotic vegetable, green house flower farms, coffee plantations, and visit the world famous  Kopi Luwak Weasel coffee farm.  We then head to Elephant “waterfall,” a silk worm factory, and learn  rice wine making techniques.  We will drive up winding mountain roads, witness beautiful landscapes along highway 27 to Lak Lake (One of the most beautiful roads in the Central Highlands). Then we will stop for lunch and try the different styles of Vietnamese cuisine.  Stopping at Nam Ka hydro lake to see a majestic floating village.  Arriving at Lak Lake with a visit to the “Jun” Village (M’Nong), with many opportunities to take pictures of people farming and fishing.  Over-night stay at Van Long Resort (2 star) or a Home stay in the Long Stilt houses of the M’nong people.

After dinner we are invited to a Special Ethnic Music festival, drink traditional jar-wine and celebrate with the M’nong people (Seasonal).

Day 2

LAK LAKE – NHA TRANG ~ 190 KM (9:30 – 17:00)

Before we depart Lak Lake we’ll learn about the daily life of the M’nong people, ride elephants and explore the area by a wooden boat around the lake.  Here you can snap great photos of the fishermen. (Wooden boat trip and elephant riding are an extra fee).  On the way back to Nha Trang you will have many opportunities to observe the panoramic view of rice paddy fields and plantations.  We then continue our trip 100 kilometers through the Back-roads of the Nha Trang countryside.  On the way we will visit Ede, H’mong and Dao villages to learn ancient traditions, cultures, customs, and their daily way of life.  Experience Brick factories, cassava farms, black pepper, and coffee plantations. Descending along the Phoenix Pass (affected by Agent Orange) we teach historical information about the region. We then stop for a rest and have lunch a local hillside restaurant. Here we can enjoy different food, Vietnamese coffee, and cold drinks before heading to Nha Trang.  We drive about 20 km along the Nha Trang coastline, one of the most picturesque in all Vietnam.  This concludes our tour.
