NHA TRANG – DALAT ~ 140 KM (8:30 – 17:00)
DALAT – LAK LAKE ~ 160 KM (8:30 – 17:00)
LAK LAKE – DRAYNUR WATERFALL – BUON MA THUOT ~ 120 KM (9:30 – 17:00)
Before we depart Lak Lake, we’ll learn about the daily life of M’nong ethnic minority. There is also the opportunity to ride an elephant to explore the area or take a wooden boat trip around the lake to and take some great photos of the fishermen. The wooden boat trip and elephant riding are optional activities at additional cost. We could trek to the top of the Elephant Rock mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of the area. We then travel to Draynur waterfall (the biggest waterfall in Vietnam) where you can swim or dip your body into the Fairy Pool next to the waterfall, a wonderful experience after a hot day traveling. Lunch is at local restaurant, After lunch head to Buon Ma Thuot city and overnight at Eden 2 star hotel.
BUON MA THUOT – PLEIKU ~ 230 KM (8:00 – 17:00)
Starting at 8:30, we ride out of Buon Ma Thuot, the capital of the Central Highlands, and travel on the old Ho Chi Minh trail to learn more about the history of Vietnamese people during the time of the French colony and during the Civil War. We see the daily life of the highlanders who live along the roads and learn how they make rice paper and noodles. At the tribal village of Ede we see the long stilted houses and learn about their culture and customs. After we will stop for lunch, we ride on to see rubber, cashew and black pepper plantations. After a long days ride, we stay overnight in Pleiku, a city famous for it’s war history during the Vietnamese/American conflict.
PLEIKU – KON TUM ~ 140 KM (8:00 – 17:00)
Leaving Pleiku for Kon Tum we head first to Sea Lake which was a volcanic crater more than a million years ago and is a great place to take some good photos for your journey. We then continue traveling to Kon Tum where you can visit Kon Tum Prison and Kon Ktu village where you can meet the Ede hill tribes in their Rong house and learn about their traditions, cultures, customs and daily life. We’ll stay overnight in Kon Tum.
KON TUM – KHAM DUC ~ 170 KM (8:30 – 17:00)
Before leaving Kon Tum for Kham Duc, we further explore Kon Tum and visit an old wooden church, the local orphanage, the suspension bridge and see the Bana tribal village featuring the very unique architecture of the tall community meeting hall. Ride to the Dakto battle field to see remnants of the US war and then on to Phoenix and Charlie hill. Stop at the Indochina triangle (border of Cambodia, Lao and Vietnam) to have lunch and learn more about the history of the region. Continue traveling on the Ho Chi Minh trail, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the different cultures of Ch’ru, Bana, and Thai tribes, some of the 54 different ethnic minorities in Viet Nam. Stay overnight at Kham Duc town, surrounded by mountains and jungle.
KHAM DUC – A LUOI ~ 160 KM (8:30 – 17:00)
Explore the local market of the mountain town of Kham Duc, learning more about the rural life of highlanders. On the way from Kham Duc toA Luoi visit the marvelous Truong Son and a typical Rong House at Tay hill. Spend the night at A Luoi township.
A LUOI – LAO BORDER ~ 162 KM (8:30 – 17:00)
Leaving A Luoi on the way to the Laos Border, visit historic vestiges such as Hamburger hill, and then continue on Ho Chi Minh trail to Dakrong river and the Khe Sanh battlefield. Tour ends at the Viet–Laos border.
